Halo Music Studio is the home of Animal Alphabeats group music classes and private music lessons in the heart of Eastern Lancaster County. We are Ryan and Kristina Olock — a husband-and-wife team with forty years of music, twenty years of teaching, and a curriculum we created because it did not exist anywhere else.
Ryan is a guitarist, producer, and music educator who has spent two decades helping students discover who they are through music. His former students have gone on to become touring professionals, award-winning filmmakers, and Nashville songwriters. Krissy is a homeschooling mother, songwriter, and curriculum designer who built Animal Alphabeats — a one-of-a-kind music and science curriculum — for her own children first. Together, they are building something that brings families together through music, creativity, and real learning.
Our drum instructor, has been Ryan's bandmate since 1995 and brings over twenty years of early childhood education experience to every lesson.
A music and science curriculum like nothing else in Lancaster County — created by a homeschool mom for homeschool families.
Every Animal Alphabeats class explores a different animal through original songs, hands-on science, geography, cultural connections, movement, and creative projects. Your child does not just meet the Pennsylvania music requirement — they come home excited to tell you what they learned about axolotls, or capybaras, or Japanese cranes.
Classes are small — ten students maximum — and taught by Kristina Olock, who designed the curriculum for her own children before bringing it to yours.

Pennsylvania requires music instruction for homeschool students.
Animal Alphabeats group classes satisfy that requirement — and your child’s portfolio gets filled with documented, evaluator-ready work every session. No other group music class in Lancaster County offers this.
A real curriculum.
Not a singalong. Not a YouTube playlist. A multidisciplinary curriculum connecting music, biology, geography, culture, art, and conservation — developed by a homeschool mother with a background in education and a 9.5/10 independent audit score.
Teachers who see your child.
Ryan’s former students became touring musicians, award-winning filmmakers, and professional songwriters — because he saw what was in them before they could see it themselves. That approach defines every lesson at Halo.
No long-term contracts.
