Everything you need to know about group classes and private lessons at Halo Music Studio.
Animal Alphabeats Group Classes
We’re here to help with your questions.
Q: What is Animal Alphabeats?
Animal Alphabeats is an original multidisciplinary music curriculum created by Kristina Olock. Each unit explores an endangered animal through original songs, hands-on science, geography, cultural connections, art projects, and conservation. It is the only curriculum of its kind — combining original music with deep, multi-subject learning in a live group class setting.
Q: Do Animal Alphabeats classes satisfy Pennsylvania's homeschool music requirement?
Yes. Pennsylvania law requires music instruction for all homeschooled students. Every Animal Alphabeats session produces portfolio-ready documentation — completed worksheets, creative projects, and curriculum materials that are evaluator-ready for your annual portfolio review.
Q: What ages are the classes for?
Classes are designed for elementary-age students (approximately K–5). The curriculum includes three differentiated levels: K–1, 2–3, and 4–5, so every student is working at the appropriate depth.
Q: How big are the classes?
Classes are capped at 10 students maximum. Small group size is intentional — it allows Krissy to give real attention to every child.
Q: How much do classes cost?
Semester (12 weeks, 3 animal units): $250
Monthly (4 weeks, 1 animal unit): $105
Drop-In (single class, no commitment): $35
Sibling Discount: 15% off the second child
Q: Can we try a class before committing?
Absolutely. The Drop-In option at $35 is designed exactly for this. No commitment, no pressure. Come to one class and see what your child thinks.
Q: Where are classes held?
Halo Music Studio, 60 B Diller Ave, New Holland, PA 17557 — in the heart of Eastern Lancaster County.
Q: Who teaches the classes?
Kristina Olock — the creator of the Animal Alphabeats curriculum, a homeschooling mother, songwriter, and educator.
Q: What does my child need to bring?
Nothing. All materials are provided. Basic handouts are included in every session.
Private Guitar, Bass & Drum Lessons
Q: Is the first lesson really free?
Yes. Your first private lesson is a genuine 30-minute lesson — not an assessment, not a sales pitch. You learn something real, and then you decide if you want to continue. No credit card required.
Q: What ages do you teach?
All ages — from young beginners to adults. Larry Connelly’s early childhood education background makes him especially effective with the youngest students. Ryan works with students from elementary age through adult.
Q: What instruments do you teach?
Guitar (acoustic and electric), bass guitar, and drums.
Q: Do I need to own an instrument?
Not for your first lesson. We have instruments at the studio you can use. If you decide to continue, we can help guide you on what to purchase at whatever budget works for your family.
Q: How much do lessons cost?
30-Minute Lessons: $35 per session | $130 per month
60-Minute Lessons: $60 per session | $225 per month
Buddy Lessons (2 students): $25 each per session
Sibling Discount: 15% off the second child
Q: Are there contracts or long-term commitments?
No. Monthly enrollmentis not required, but will give you a discounted rate. No annual contracts. You stay because you want to, not because you’re locked in.
Q: Do you offer daytime lessons for homeschool students?
Yes. Daytime slots are available specifically for homeschool families. Guitar, bass, and drum instruction all count toward Pennsylvania’s required curriculum documentation.
Q: Who are the instructors?
Ryan Olock teaches guitar and bass — forty years of music, twenty years of teaching. Larry Connelly teaches drums — thirty years of performance experience and twenty years of early childhood education training.
Q: Where is the studio?
Halo Music Studio, 60 B Diller Ave, New Holland, PA 17557. Minutes from Leola, Ephrata, Blue Ball, Terre Hill, and communities across Eastern Lancaster County.
